Governance and independence
The Institute operates under its statutes and is governed by a board, a Standards Council and a Research Committee. Membership confers no ownership interest or claim to assets. The assets are irrevocably dedicated to the Institute's purpose.
Board
| Role | Name | Since |
|---|---|---|
| President and Director | Massimiliano Silenzi, PhD (ORCID 0009-0004-1392-8163) | [founding date] |
[Further board members are listed here as they are appointed.]
Disclosure: the Director also founded a payments company group. That activity is unrelated to the Institute. It provides no funding and has no role in the Institute's governance. Funding arrangements are described under Funding and independence.
Standards Council
The Standards Council approves changes to measurement standards, decisions to admit or remove constituents, and the publication of official vintages. Its decisions are entered in the public changelog. Members may register dissent, which is published with the relevant decision.
[Members are listed here as the Council is constituted. Until then, the board exercises the Council's functions and records its decisions in the changelog.]
Research Committee
The Research Committee reviews methodology papers before publication and advises on research priorities. Two Committee members review each methodology paper before it receives a persistent identifier. Committee members have access to Institute data under the academic data programme and are expected to publish research using it. An academic member chairs the Committee.
[Members are listed here, by name and affiliation, as they join. The Committee is being constituted; the first members are expected in [month].]
Editorial independence
The Institute records every change to a standard as a new version. Changes to constituent lists are logged with their dates and reasons. Published figures cannot be restated without notice, and dissent within the Standards Council is made public. Corrections follow the Corrections policy. Readers can check a figure against the vintage released on its publication date.
